LEF’s Newcomer Program launched in 2008 as a result of community demand. While LEF has served the newcomer community for over 40 years, the need for a broad-based service was evident.

LEF offers a fully integrated, holistic, adaptable and flexible program for newcomers that combines essential settlement services, employment assistance, language training, access to training, and community engagement. Through these activities, we create a welcoming community and support newcomers to be fully connected with the services they need, make informed decisions about life in Canada, understand their rights and responsibilities in Canadian society, and use English to fully participate in the labour market and engage with the broader community.

Every year, we work with more than 1,200 newcomers. Each of them brings their talents and assets that enrich their settlement experience and the life of our community.

At LEF, we understand that you and your family face many questions as you settle into your new lives as Canadians. That’s where we can help!
